I can’t believe 2012 has come and gone. I feel like I repeat this every year but 2012 flew by faster than ever.

For the final post of 2012 I want to wish you all the best for the year to come and hope it brings those dreams even just a little bit closer.

So my gym motivation has been a little lacking lately. Used to go 4+ times a week and I am lucky if I get there 2 or 3 times a  week at the moment.

I haven’t spent a whole lot on work out clothes lately ( Nike leggings + Adidas/Nike/Everlast tee and my free runs pretty much sums up my gym wardrobe)

Been searching for some new workout clothes to get motivated here are some of my favs!

Lululemon Scuba Hoodie $139.00

Lululemon Warrior Pant $129.00

Lorna Jane Akira Tight $98.99
Nike Freerun Plus 3 $100.48

What are your workout wardrobe favs?

Welcome back!

I am back from bad blogger land!

Sorry for the extended hiatus there, life got a little crazy. I have spent most of the horrible Canberra winter lapping up the sunshine in Italy and eating my body weight in pasta.

Pics to come, I promise. Here is a little teaser..

Stay tuned for updates

Millie’s 21st Birthday

Last night was spent celebrating my lovely friend Kamilla’s 21st birthday.

Headed down to her party at Siren bar and restaurant in Gungahlin and was totally surprise. The atmosphere was pretty amazing (free hairspray in the toilets was a nice touch) and the food was even better. We just had nibbles, slices of pizza, chicken wings, crumbed chick breasts and some prawns but everything was delicious.

Very belated weekend post

Sorry for the lack of posting recently, life has been more than a little hectic, driving to Sydney and back once a week due to a family emergency, crazy busy assignment period at uni, and many many social events.

Last Saturday was exciting times in the otherwise slightly boring Canberra, Sky Fire, and St pats day fell on the same day.

And oh my did it rain.

Bright idea to go watch the fire works, which should have looked all nice and fireworky, instead, just got drenched and was not as fun as it could have been mainly because the fireworks were not visible through the heavy rain. This meant we switched the fireworks for inside St Pats day events. Much much better.

Guinness (yuck) did venture into the night, mainly because with each purchase came a free hat, but after the first free hat Guinness was quickly removed from the night.

This weekend I enjoyed a dinner and drink with the girls at Trevs in Dickson (and it was amazing)! Will do a post on that soon, I promise.

How was your weekend?

So pasta is one of those things that every time I have it, I wonder why I don’t have it more! Sunday of the long weekend just gone (why thank you Canberra for having a Birthday) I spent the morning browsing the Bus Depot Markets and decided to make pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, chicken, basil and Parmesan for dinner. So simple I have never taken the time to write the recipe down, but here it is, apologies if the measurements are a little vague!

1/3 cup chicken stock (I always use the liquid variety when making this)

600ml cream

About a cup of Parmesan cheese

A bunch of basil (leaves only)

250-300g‘s chicken breast or tenderloins (depends if you like lots of chicken or not)

1/2 a large jar of sun-dried tomatoes

1/2 tablespoon of oil

1. Finely chop the basil leaves and cut the sun-dried tomatoes into quarters

2. Cut the chicken into bite sized pieces and cook in oil on a medium heat until cooked through, set aside when cooked

3. In the same pan, add the cream, chicken stock and Parmesan cheese and stir until cheese is melted in, add the sun-dried tomatoes, the sauce should begin to turn an orangey colour, once this occurs, add the basil and the chicken and simmer for a few minutes until all the flavours have combined, make sure you do not let the sauce boil as this can cause a funny texture (so not appealing).

4. Stir in with desired amount and type (i use fettuccine or linguine) of pasta and serve with Italian bread and topped with Parmesan.

Apologies in advance for both the sketchy recipe writing, and the terrible pictures ( I was trying out a new app, obviously it sucks, come on Instagram for Android).

Super simple to make and super tasty!
